Tasawuruha (Tiny Clockwork Construct)
Tasawuruha are tiny clockwork constructions made by the people of Sayyad on the desert world Talan. They consist of extremely small machinery with minor magics that are of a very delicate nature. As such, they tend to be used for simple tasks such as keeping watch, recording life or experiments within the construction guilds, or even restocking small products in shops. Additionally, while they tend not to be used for outright combat, their use is also well known for espionage and even assassination.
The craftspeople who make tasawuruha are well respected across Talan and have gained much wealth from their fine handiwork.
Creation
The construction of a tasawuruha involves creating individual parts and joining them together. Crafting these parts functions as per the Crafting rules, but with a baseline DC20 of Craft: Tasawuruha. Crafting attempts can be made on a daily basis if at least 4 hours are dedicated to the highly intricate work. Additionally, parts can require specific minimum ranks, representing the amount of time dedicated to the complex craft.
Although the amount of parts can vary, almost all tasawuruha require a chassis, a shell, a mode of locomotion, and some type of sense. Once these parts are made, they can be joined to or removed from the main chassis with a DC 15 Craft: Tasawuruha check or with a DC 20 Knowledge: Engineering followed by a DC 20 Disable Device check.
Chassis
The chassis represents the base category of the tasawuruha. It determines the statistics, innate special abilities, and otherwise. All other parts attach to this chassis.

- Winding (Ex)
- Clockwork constructs must be wound with special keys in order to function. As a general rule, a fully wound clockwork can remain active for 1 day per Hit Die, but shorter or longer durations are possible.
- Vulnerable to Electricity
- Clockwork constructs take 150% as much damage as normal from electricity attacks.
- Swift Reactions (Ex)
- Clockwork constructs generally react much more swiftly than other constructs. They gain Improved Initiative and Lightning Reflexes as bonus feats, and gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC.

Shell
The shell of the tasawuruha defines its visual appearance as well as its durability. Hardness can be considered as effective DR for the tasawuruha when attacked as a fully functioning automaton.
Shells are normally 1/4th inch in thickness, but may be increased to 1/2 inch, thereby doubling both the costs and the hit points. Materials not listed here may be used at the DM’s discretion by halving the material’s hardness.

Description

Embedded Ioun Stone (Ex)

Description
As a full-round action, an ioun stone can be embedded in (or removed from) a slot in the tasawuruha (usually on its forehead). It is possible to embed or remove an ioun stone only if the tasawuruha is helpless, pinned, or willing. The tasawuruha gains the benefit of the ioun stone, including its resonant power.

Description
A tasawuruha with this special attack deals additional slashing damage when it makes a successful grapple combat maneuver check because of many twisting gears and churning pistons in its body. This additional damage is equal to 1d4 points plus 1-1/2 the creature’s Strength bonus.

Integrated Firearm (Ex)

Description
One of the tasawuruha’s arms ends in a firearm. The firearm generally functions as a pistol or musket intended for a creature of the tasawuruha’s size, but nearly any firearm of suitable size is possible. The tasawuruha is considered proficient with the weapon. The tasawuruha can reload an integrated one-handed firearm as a swift action and an integrated two-handed firearm as a move action. As a standard action, the tasawuruha can remove the broken condition from an integrated firearm, provided that the condition resulted from a misfire. A tasawuruha usually has 10 rounds of ammunition and gunpowder stored within a reloading mechanism.

Self-Destruct (Ex)

Description
Unless specifically programmed otherwise by its creator, a tasawuruha explodes 1 round after it is destroyed. During this round, the thing shrieks and thrashes about as if undergoing convulsions. On what would normally have been its next action, it explodes, dealing 1d6 points of fire damage in a 5-foot radius (Reflex DC 10 for half damage). A DC 20 Disable Device check made as a standard action can halt the self-destruct sequence, but does not prevent it from dying. A tasawuruha that self-destructs automatically destroys its gemstone, along with any information contained inside it. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Standby (Ex)

Description
A tasawuruha creature with this special ability can place itself on standby as a standard action. While on standby, the tasawuruha creature cannot move or take any actions. It remains aware of its surroundings but takes a -4 penalty on Perception checks. Time spent on standby does not count against the tasawuruha’s wind-down duration. The tasawuruha can exit standby as a swift action. If it does so to initiate combat, it gains a +4 racial bonus on its Initiative check.

Record Audio (Ex)

Description
The tasawuruha can record nearby sounds as a swift action or as part of the Record Video augmentation, archiving all sound within a 20-foot spread onto a small gemstone worth 50gp embedded in its body. It can record up to 1 hour of sound. Starting and stopping playback of recorded sound is a swift action. Removing a gemstone or installing a gemstone requires a DC 25 Disable Device or a DC 17 Engineering with a DC 15 Craft Tasawuruha check as a full-round action – failure does not damage the gemstone but does erase any recorded sounds on the gemstone.
Since tasawuruha are not intelligent, they must be given simple commands as to when they are to start recording sounds. A tasawuruha can differentiate between creature types and subtypes, but not between specific individuals. Recording can be stopped and started according to these rules as well, however once the gemstone has reached its 1 hour limit, all recording stops unless specifically commanded to record over from the beginning of the gemstone.
The cost of an individual audio gemstone is 50gp.

Record Video (Ex)

Description
Tasawuruha can record video as a swift action or as part of the Record Audio augmentation, archiving all video it seems with its crystal eyes within a 30-foot cone onto a small gemstone worth 100gp embedded in its body. The video is of a poor quality, such that a scroll can only barely be read if placed directly in front of the crystal apparatus.
Otherwise, this augmentation functions as per Record Audio.
The cost of an individual video gemstone is 100gp.
