Simplified Deck of Mixed Blessings

The deck of mixed blessings contains a total of 40 cards, with 4 suits of 10 cards each. Each suit represents an alignment and contains a populace represented by ace through 7 along with a knave, a knight, and a king.

The act of drawing 4 cards and applying the rules at play will cause a particular spell to go off.

Types of Decks

There are multiple types of decks that determine how the spells are applied.

Alignment Rarity Spell Application
Good Common Moral spells trigger to self, immoral spells do not trigger
Evil Common Moral spells do not trigger, immoral spells to enemies
Chaotic Uncommon Moral spells apply to enemies, immoral spells to self
Lawful Rare Moral spells apply to self, immoral spells to enemies

General Rules

All cards are rated in terms of value and morality. Chaotic and Evil cards are Immoral, whilst Lawful and Good cards are Moral. Chaotic and Lawful knaves, knights, and kings have unique rules that apply to the interpretation of the cards.

All immoral cards are totalled as Immorality and all moral cards are totalled as Morality. Chaotic and Lawful Knaves, Knights, and Kings may change the morality of cards. After totalling, whichever value is larger is considered the winner and the smaller value is subtracted from it. The resultant value determines the spell triggered.

How to roll

Draw 4 cards and follow the General Rules along with any particular Rule as determined in the table in the next section.

If using dice to acquire cards, roll 4d4 and 4d10. The result of the d4s determine the Alignment of the values acquired by the d10s.
