This pair of picks is linked by a loose chain. While the two picks are balanced to wield in melee together, the chain is long enough that you can throw one pick a short distance and then pull it back; pulling the chain to retrieve the thrown pick is a move action. The chain-pick’s maximum throwing range is 15 feet and can be used as a short grappling hook. Empyrean Explorers are fond of using chain-picks, often using a locked gauntlet to make sure one of the picks remains secure.
