Mark of Orcus
Orcus has partially possessed your mind and body. Each level of possession, marked by a physical marking on the target’s skin, is equivalent to a manifestation point.
This is effectively a combination of Possessed and Hellbound.
Catalyst
Whether through interactions with primal symbols of Orcus, direct curses, or even by some dark force at work during birth, a mark exuding the demonic presence of Orcus is with you.
Manifestations
Hateful Voices
Paranoid whispers constantly mingle with your own thoughts.
- Gift
- You gain a +4 bonus on Perception checks and Sense Motive checks to see through disguises, notice when a creature is under an enchantment, and act on the surprise round.
- Stain
- Whenever a character you consider an ally or friend betrays or disappoints you, even if the disappointment is completely innocent, you unknowingly mutter (Perception DC 15 for others to hear) about how that character was an enemy all along and must be made to pay.
- At 2 or more points of influence, you gain +2 on attack rolls and CMB against this target for 1d4 days times manifestation points. Additionally, if the betrayer is helpless and adjacent, you must make a DC18 Will Save to resist attempting a coup de grace.
- Under 3 or more points of influence, you gain no benefit from another creature’s aid another attempts.
Manifestation: Rune of Orcus
A demonic symbol manifests upon your body.
- Gift
- You gain a 1st-level sorcerer/wizard or witch spell of your choice as a spell-like ability usable a number of times per day equal to your manifestation level. It must not have a casting time longer than 1 standard action or a material or focus component costing more than 1 GP.
- Stain
- Your devil’s mark manifests on your body. It can’t be hidden by magic, but can be hidden by clothing or other mundane means. Anyone who sees the mark automatically recognizes it as unnatural. A Knowledge(Planar) DC Check of 16 reveals it as demonic. A Knowledge(Planar) DC of 25 or a Linguistics check of 26 will recognize it as a Rune of Orcus.
- Special
- Gaining this a second time raises it to a 2nd-level spell
Manifestation: Devil’s Horns
- Gift
- You gain a gore attack that deals 1d4 points of damage if your size is Medium (1d3 if Small). These horns appear in any form you take, so you still retain this gore attack in any form you assume with a polymorph effect.
- Stain
- You gain horns that can’t be hidden by magic, but can be hidden by mundane means. Anyone who sees the horns recognizes them as unnatural. A Knowledge(Planar) or Knowledge(Arcana) of 18 will reveal it as demonic. If someone leaves a loophole in an agreement with you that would allow you to gain an advantage, you must exploit it. This typically counts as an act that might progress your corruption.
- Special
- Upon receiving this manifestation, you must take both the gift and the stain, even with the useful corruption or vile corruption variants.
