Uchun

Long ago, the monstrous Onun escaped their prison deep in Amaakab, where Itni had condemned them. They made their way again to surface where they wreaked havoc on the second children of Itni, the Hatun, and all of the gods’ handiwork. Using the divine knowledge they had usurped, the Onun created the giant Inun, which the Hatun still deal with to this day.

The Hatun were valiant and with the help of the gods, they drove the horrific Onun back to the depths and resealed the barrier which holds the Onun in their prison world inside the world of Amaakab on which we all exist. A number of the Hatun, following this fierce war, offered to reside near the barrier and ensure that the Onun never again escape. They would be cut off from the rest of the Hatun in their work and would need different qualities than those manifest in the Hatun.

The gods agreed and Itni refashioned these valiant souls to better exist in their new home deep inside Kab above the Prison. Thus was the race of Uchun born, like the Hatun but smaller in size and stature, with eyes fashioned for the dark and ears that could provide vision in the darkest cavern. Here they resided for a great length of time, sequestered and shut away from the upper world. Then, after a great period of time, some found their way back toward the mountain cities of the Hatun, who found them very strange but embraced their long lost brethren. Now there are populations of Uchun in the Hatun kingdom as well as, even, in the city of Pentarex, since peace was made between these two peoples.

The greatest of the Uchun cities, however, apart from the Hatun, is the city of Spilt Water where the king of the Uchun resides, deep in Kab, but not as deep as the City of the Guardians, near the Prison of the Onun, which still exist separate and hidden from all but the Uchun who stayed.

The Inun, like the Hatun, are methodical and communal, utilizing clever technologies, but life in the treacherous depths of Amaakab have taught them secrecy and the ways of shadow. They seek information and guard it, for knowledge is power and the secrets of Amaaakab are not to be given lightly to those who might abuse that knowledge.

Physical Description

Uchun are small in size, standing at around 3 ft or about that of a Hatun child. Like the Hatun, they are a short and stocky race, with thick rocky skin, but they tend to have paler shades than their Hatun brethren. They are bipedal with four limbs; have eight digits on each hand/foot, including 6 fingers/toes and two thumbs. Unlike the Hatun, they have two asymmetrically positioned protuberances (ears) on the sides of their heads which look very strange but allow them to hear better than anyone else in the party! They also lack the facial plumage of the Hatun, though some sport quills instead.
