Nupi

Nupi are creatures of the dark, with a carapace protecting their midsection and plates of natural armor protecting the whole of their bodies. Their unappealing heads are large, constituting much of their body.

It appears that they are limited to stone age artifice, but they do enjoy thieving and trading in order to outfit themselves with more formidable weapons. Interestingly, some of their number, unlike most peoples on Kab, have adopted the use of elemental daemonism. These adepts tend to rule various nests and gangs, thieving Pentarexian merchants of their elemental crystals or else mining their own. Their knowledge of effects that can be produced with the arcanist art is limited, but still, dangerous.

Nupi are expert tunnelers and though they will take over the structures of other creatures, they also possess the ability to engineer their own structures by eating the underground fungus which they often forage (and occasionally farm) and converting it into a paste that they can spit. Often these nests will be multistoried buildings replete with tunnels, rooms, doors and windows, owing to the Nupi’s clever ability in this respect.

Physical Description

The Nupi stand at three feet generally, though there are larger types who have managed to increase their size through intense training such that they stand as giants – at 4 or even 5 feet – among other Nupi.

• Ability Score Racial Traits: Nupi are dexterous, small and suited to cave life, shying away from the Pentarexian civilization they abhore. They gain +4 Dexterity, -2 Strength, and -2 Charisma.
• Size: Nupi start as Small creatures, although they can grow to a larger size.
• Type: Narpaca are humanoids with the Nupi subtype.
• Base Speed: Nupi have a base speed of 20 feet and a climb speed of 10 feet.
• Languages: Nupi begin play speaking Common and Nupinese. Nupi with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Anitou Whisper, Narpacan, Phage-speak, Enochian

• Nupi Horns: 20ft blindsight.
• Nupi Training: Nupi gain a special Nupi Training skill, through which they can change size. See Nupi Training.

Nupi Training

Nupi gain a special Nupi Training skill through which they can change size. When the Nupi put ranks into their Nupi Training skill, they grow permanently in size and gain strength!

Before gaining these benefits, the Nupi must molt – this process will take 4 hours of helplessness.
