Wandering Stalker (CR +1)

Wandering stalkers are the manifestations of humanoid souls lost in transit between both the planes and life and death. They appear first as a barely visible shadow but over time begin to integrate with the plane they exist within. This may confer unique abilities that correspond to the given plane.

Creating a Wandering Stalker

“Wandering Stalker” is an acquired template that can be added to any creature that had both its passing between planes and life and death interrupted simultaneously. A wandering stalker uses all the base creature’s statistics and special abilities except as noted here.

Challenge Rating: Same as base creature +1.

Alignment: Any.

Type: The creature’s type changes to outsider and, dependant on the further rules below, becomes incorporeal.

Armor Class: See the AC section in Table: Unbound.

Speed: See the Speed section in Table: Unbound.

Table: Unbound

The stalker finds great difficulty existing within any given plane and takes a great amount of time to adapt. This effect can be sped up by a single stage by using Planar Binding, Lesser or to the final stage with Planar Binding.

The table below shows the amount of time spent on a plane and the effects thereof. For CL-based effects treat your base class level as your caster level. Each Type’s full effects replace the previous Type’s when the stalker attains it.

Type Days Material Form AC Speed Special Attacks Special Abilities
Shadow 0-2 Ethereal Replace all AC with deflection bonus equal to Charisma bonus Lose all base creature’s speed but gain a fly speed equal to the base creature’s highest speed with perfect maneuverability. Weak Unbound Touch Silent Image, Mage Hand
